This course is designed to introduce students to Terrorism, one of the issues that has brought about important and fundamental changes to international politics. In this course, students will be equiped with knowledge on the nature of terrorism, its origins, motivations and manifestations. At the end, it is expected of the student to demonstrate an understanding of the difficulties in reaching a consensus on the definition of terrorism, to be able to discuss the origins, causes and history of terrorism, to demonstrate a conceptual understanding of the nature of terrorism and its dimensions, to explain the characteristics and goals of terrorism, to discuss the justifications offered for terrorism, among others.
