The course is aimed at introducing a gendered approach to
security sector reform. Taking into account the rapidly changing global
context of security, the course reflects on the theory and practice of
security sector reforms in the 21st century by adopting a
gendered lens. The course achieves this by interacting with traditional
as well as emerging themes of security in order to set the context for
understanding the role of gender in security sector processes of
developing countries.
